Here's a mix of Industrial, EBM and Rock music to match those all-black workout gear days.
By the time I was a teenager in the '90s, music had become less of a signal of group identity.
I'd run into goth kids at the mall, in line at HMV, and we'd discuss what we were listening to while waiting to pay.
The only music of theirs I wasn't familiar with was Nine Inch Nails; otherwise, they were more or less listening to the same rock and metal that I was into.
It wasn't until I made some older friends who were kind enough to share their music with me that I learned about Electronic Body Music and began to appreciate some of the different subgenres of metal, like Industrial.

These smarty-pants also explained that my fellow teenagers at HMV were mall-goths—a bunch of try-hards in costume, and not true goths, and I was on board with this.
You can't blame me—these were the people that put me onto KMFDM, Skinny Puppy and Front 242 and they were older than me.
Anyway, here's the first tribute playlist to all of the goths I knew growing up—in or out of the mall. As always these are tracks handpicked to be good for the gym.
